Frequently asked questions
Is there a 'good' ratio?
This tool doesn't label ratios good or bad. The same ratio can mean very different things for a resident and an established practice owner.
Should I use gross or take-home pay?
Gross (pre-tax) income, which is how lenders and federal income-driven plans generally measure income.
Why is the payment optional?
Some borrowers are in school, grace or forbearance. The balance ratio still gives useful context.
