Why doesn't the tool tell me which path is best?
The right path depends on employer, career plans, income trajectory, household and risk tolerance. The comparison shows trade-offs; a consultation looks at your whole picture.
Why no number for income-driven plans?
Those payments depend on income, family size and plan rules that have changed recently. Showing a made-up estimate would be misleading.
Where do the refinance rates come from?
Only from you. Varela doesn't supply or advertise refinancing rates.
Are the payoff numbers exact?
They use standard amortization on one blended balance and rate. Actual figures vary by loan, capitalization and servicer.
