Frequently asked questions

Does this tell me if I qualify for PSLF?

No. It highlights which areas look consistent with the program's main requirements and which are worth verifying. Official eligibility is decided by your servicer and the Department of Education.

Where do I find my loan types and payment count?

Your studentaid.gov account lists each federal loan's type, and the PSLF Help Tool tracks certified employment and qualifying payments.

What if I have FFEL or Perkins loans?

Those generally need to be consolidated into a Direct Consolidation Loan to count. The timing and effects are worth reviewing before acting.
